Maguire was fined £250 and given six penalty points at Dumfries District Court - earning the ban under 'totting up' rules. The ban comes after the 28 year old was recently probed by the cops who were investigating a match fixing scandal between him and Jamie Burnett in the UK Championships last December.
Bookies reported large sums placed on the game's 9-3 score line, but both players vowed they had nothing to hide however Strathclyde Police are still investigating. Hopefully now Maguire can get back to focusing on events on the table for a change and hopefully his recent laser surgery will see him back to his best for next season.
